Distinctly Rebecca Stratton

Products

The largest portion of business for Metropolitan Endeavors, Inc., entails furniture selection and sales.  Rebecca has a number of manufacturers that she has built relationships with due to their excellent service, value, and product scope.  Because she buys direct from the factory (as a retail store would do), Stratton gets great pricing, that enables her to offer both upholstery and casegoods at a great value to her clients.  It also allows her close oversight of the entire product-flow process from purchase agreements, to knowing exact stock status, to be able to track when an item leaves its dock to arriving at her receivership.  From there, it is delivered to the client's home by a professional, insured staff that does assembly, if necessary, and places the items for the customer.

For vendors that Rebecca doesn't have a direct relationship, she has several options for obtaining product, i.e. the Merchandise Mart, various to-the-trade showrooms, and retailers that honor her A.S.I.D. credentials.

After years of carrying an inventory of accessories, lamps, and some furniture, it has become obvious that the best way to handle a job is to buy specficially for it, and not carry inventory.  This has enabled Rebecca to be more nimble and sensitive to each project's unique personality.  Quite often clients provide a general budget for accessories.  Stratton then shops for the accessories, consolidates the items, and installs them all at one time.  Clients are then free to live with the items for a period and decide if any of the items don't satisfy them, in which case, Stratton will simply return them.  In this circumstance, the designer is reimbursed for the agreed upon items and paid for her time invested in doing the project.  Her client's love this and often tell her that it is what really pulls a home together for them.  It is also very satisfying work for Rebecca because she is able to make a complete impact on the space.
